Administration

The Administration Department includes the Town Administrator’s Office, the Town Clerk's Office and Financial Administration. The Department includes a staff of three full time employees. Janell Sciacca serves as both the Town Administrator and the Town Clerk. The Town Administrator is the chief administrative officer of the Town. This responsibility includes implementation of Board policies and directives. The Administrator is also responsible for overall planning, coordination and support for Town operations, The Administrator has oversight responsibilities for the four major departments, including Administration, Building and Planning, Police and Public Works. The Town Clerk's office maintains official records of the Town, conducting elections, administering licenses and serves as Clerk to the Town Board. The Finance department provides the accounting, budgeting, utility billing, human resources, payroll and investing services for the Town. Building and Planning

The Building and Planning functions assist in all building and planning services including building permits, sign permits, fence permits, zoning inquiries, annexations, subdivision and special use permit applications, long range planning, and other aspects of building, planning and development in the Town of Fairplay. These functions are carried out though a collaborative effort between the Administration Department, the Public Works Department and contract staff. Municipal Court

The Fairplay Municipal Court has jurisdiction over all municipal offenses including but not limited to Code Enforcement, animal offenses, petty and misdemeanor crimes as well as certain traffic offenses committed within the Town limits of Fairplay, Colorado. Court is held in the lower level Board Meeting Room at the Town Hall located at 901 Main Street, Fairplay, CO 80440. The Fairplay Municipal Court Judge is the Honorable Brian Green. Police Department

The Fairplay Police Department provides law enforcement services to the Community in order to maintain and improve the safety of the citizens, preserve life and protect property. The Fairplay Police Department is located on the lower level of the Town Hall at 901 Main Street, Fairplay, CO 80440; (non-emergency phone number (719) 836-2622 ext. 106). Chief of Police Policy note: During any MULTI-AGENCY INVESTIGATION involving Officer-involved shootings that result in injury or death shall be investigated by a multi-agency team. The multi-agency team shall include at least one other police or sheriff’s agency or the Colorado Bureau of Investigation. The Police Chief or the authorized designee shall ensure this protocol is posted on the Fairplay Police Department website and is available to the public upon request (CRS §16-2.5-301).

Public Works Department

The Public Works Department is responsible for maintenance and repair of town parks, town streets, and all municipal appurtenances. Public Works also is responsible for all aspects of the Town’s water system including treatment and distribution. Master planning for maintenance and growth of the Town’s infrastructure is also a part of the department responsibilities. Public Works is responsible for the planning, design, and construction oversight of major Capital Improvement Projects for the City, including street projects, water projects and storm drainage projects. The Public Works Department also provides engineering design criteria and development review services to builders and developers, maintains and creates maps and as built information for subdivisions and town infrastructure, provides inspection oversight and approvals for developments, The Public Works Department is located 901 Main Street, Fairplay, CO 80440; (719) 838-0163.
